First Trip to Vincennes

So, we made our first trip to Vincennes to visit where mom grew up. Since it was hard for my 94-year old grandpa to make the trip here, we decided we would bring Kix to him.  The drive was a little scary since dad had to work, but Kix and mom hit the open road to make the drive.  We stopped a couple of times for a diaper change and feeding (after Kix cried in the back for a bit.) Mom is not good at letting him “cry it out yet.” We finally made it and he went straight to grandma and grandpa. Later we had dinner with the Gislasons and Kix’s great grandpa and grandma Freida.  Everyone all took turns cuddling the big man, and we know he loved it!

Grandma  and Grandpa made an amazing dinner for all of the family, with Kix as the guest of honor. Terri Gislason made some beautiful embroidered onesies and bibs. She also made dad and Kix a soccer blanket to get all wrapped up and watch the games.  Freida enjoyed holding him and Kix loved her as he feel asleep in her arms. The trip was much too short. Mom and Kixton made their way home with no problem……but boy were we excited to see dad. We had not been away from him yet.  Daddy got major cuddle time when he got home from work. All-in-all, a great successful trip back to moms childhood home!
